Karbonhidrat içeriği süte kıyasla daha fazla görünse de sukrozdan (rafine şekerden) kaynaklı olduğu için sağlık açısından hiçbir yararı olmadığı gibi vücuda zarar bile vermektedir. Öte yandan elmanın karbonhidrat içeriği daha fazla olmasına rağmen fruktozdan (meyve şekerinden) kaynaklı olduğu için çok daha sağlıklıdır.
- Proteinli besinler genelde doymuş (kötü) yağ içerirler. O nedenle tam yağlı süt yerine yağsız (light) olanların tercih edilmesi gerek enerji gerekse yağ ve kolesterol açısından çok daha sağlıklı bir seçim olacaktır.
